Long download, boring
page. As far as Biba Restorations is concerned, the cleaning,
brass wheel buffing, then recording in detail of every item to
be plated, is worth the effort...in the end.
Approximately 120 hours
was spent during this process, (excluding the time to lay out,
say smile, then photograph the items).
A digital camera would
have been most handy but we also like to 'share' the photos (hard
copies) with the client.
Why not just throw
everything in a big bucket and take it to the platers and have
them de-rust, then re-plate?
Using harsh chemicals
to strip rust increases pitting, especially in the threads. Additionally,
seldom is all rust removed - which shows up after plating
